Carbon steel crimped wire mesh is a strong and economical pre-crimped woven screen made from low-carbon or high-carbon steel wire. The wires are formed before weaving, allowing the crimps to lock each intersection and maintain stable square or rectangular openings during screening, guarding and general industrial service.

Galvanizing can be completed before or after weaving according to the required coating coverage, appearance and application. For long-term exposure to aggressive chemicals or marine conditions, stainless steel may be a more suitable choice.

How to Specify
Please provide both clear opening and wire diameter. Approximate mesh count per inch = 25.4 ÷ (opening in mm + wire diameter in mm). Also state the required surface treatment, panel dimensions, edge design, quantity and operating environment.

Material and Coating Selection
Untreated carbon steel can corrode in moisture. State the coating type, required coverage and inspection criteria if surface protection is needed. Coating thickness may affect the finished aperture. Galvanized carbon steel is not automatically suitable for aggressive chemicals, food contact or high-temperature service.
