Custom Filter Elements for Industrial Filtration

Custom filter screens and discs

Custom filter screens include round discs, shaped screens and screen packs. Round diameters start from 3 mm, with single-layer, multilayer and edge-wrapped structures subject to manufacturing review. Specify thickness, layer order, edge material, sealing details and dimensional tolerances.

Custom filter cylinders

Custom filter cylinders start from 5 mm diameter, with single-layer, multilayer and flanged designs subject to drawing review. Provide diameter, length, support arrangement, seam, ends, flange and connection details. A cylinder is not automatically a complete replacement cartridge; cartridge requirements need matching end fittings, seals and performance specifications.

Materials and filtration media

Material options include stainless steel grades such as 304, 304L, 316 and 316L, plus carbon steel, copper and nickel. Media options include woven wire mesh, sintered mesh, perforated metal and expanded metal. The selected alloy must match the process medium, temperature and cleaning conditions.

Filtration requirements from 1 micron

The 1 micron and above range requires selection of an appropriate filtration layer and an agreed rating basis. Not every material or minimum-size construction achieves this rating. Perforated and expanded metal often provide support rather than fine filtration. Specify whether the micron value describes an opening, pore-size measurement or tested retention; nominal and absolute ratings require a test method and efficiency criterion.

Applications and qualification

Components can be assessed for chemical processing, petroleum equipment, food machinery, mining process fluids and other industrial filtration duties. Electronics, printing and aerospace-related orders require the relevant equipment specification and customer acceptance requirements. Material designation alone does not establish regulatory compliance or a pressure rating.
